Our Righteous Roots Mike founded RockAloha in 2023 to blend his two lifelong passions: epic rock music and the colorful cool of Hawaiian shirts. As a kid, Kunoa became hooked on the rebellious riffs of rock trailblazers like Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and the legacy-making sounds of early punk groups like the Ramones and the Sex Pistols. As he grew older, Kunoa also fell in love with the artistic patterns and breezy fabrics that define traditional Hawaiian shirts. He appreciated how the island style allowed free expression while staying loose and casual. So when it came time for Kunoa to launch his own radical clothing line, fusing rock counterculture edge with an island state of mind seemed like a totally gnarly wave to catch. He established RockAloha on a mission to celebrate rock's boundary-pushing icons through the vibrant palette of Hawaiian prints.
